SLIAC Players of the Week - September 18
Three schools, Fontbonne University, Greenville University, and Spalding University, place multiple award winners on this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week awards. Winners this week are Ali Bumblis, from Spalding University; Caleb Carpenter, from Greenville University; Jacob Dixon, from Fontbonne University, Mia Gill, from Principia College, Katie Gosser, from Fontbonne University; Finn Kola, from Spalding University; Allyson Mitchell, from Greenville University; and Meredith Wendt, from Fontbonne University.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Caleb Carpenter, Greenville University Carpenter, a freshman from Clinton, Miss., tallied two goals in the Panthers 3-1 win over Franklin last week. Carpenter put the Panthers up early in the game with a goal at the 11-minute mark. He netted the game-winner at the 62-minute mark. Carpenter scored both of his goals on just three shots in the game. |

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Finn Kola, Spalding University Kola, a sophomore from Millfield, Ohio., guided Spalding to a 5-0 win over Berea. Kola led both defensively and offensively for Spalding. Defensively he was part of a team that allowed just three shots on goal while he added two goals offensively. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Meredith Wendt, Fontbonne University Wendt, a senior from Troy, Ill., sparked the Griffins offense against Illinois College; helping her team to their first win of the season. Wendt played a role in five of her team's seven goals in the 7-1 win. She tallied three goals and two assists in the contest as the Griffins exploded for a season high seven goals. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Ali Bumblis, Spalding University Bumblis, a junior from Hendersonville, Tenn., helped Spalding to a 4-0 shutout win over Brescia last week. Bumblis led a Golden Eagle defense that not only recorded a shutout but limited their opponent to just three shots in the game. She also added a goal in the win for Spalding. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Allyson Mitchell, Greenville University Mitchell, a senior outside hitter, paced the Panthers over three matches last week. She averaged 4.64 kills per set, finishing with at least 16 kills in all three matches. She had a high of 19 kills against Webster. In addition, Mitchell added 34 digs last week and averaged 5.0 points per set. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Mia Gill, Principia College Gill, a junior from Elgin, Ill., was active in all six of Principia's matches last week; averaging 8.25 digs per set. Gill tallied at least 16 digs in all six matches including an impressive 50 digs in her team's five-set win over Olivet, setting a new school record. |

SLIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Jacob Dixon, Fontbonne University Dixon, a freshman from Sullivan, Mo., competed in his first 8K race for the Griffins this past weekend. In a field of 57 runners, Dixon finished 18th among non-Division I competitors with a time of 31:40. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 18 Katie Gosser, Fontbonne University Gosser, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., had a strong showing at the National Catholic Invitational. Gosser finished the 5K race in a time of 19:57, finishing 21st among non-Division I runners. That mark is the third fastest in program history and a personal best by over 5-minutes. |
