SLIAC Players of the Week - September 25
This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week include six first-time winners for the 2017 season. Those garnering the award for the first time this year are Jordan Allen, from Blackburn College; Mary Beers, from Fontbonne University; Anna Crank, from Eureka College; Dani Pearce, from Greenville University; Tony Pitaro, from Fontbonne University; and Maria Soffner, from Webster University. In addition, Jessie Kuykendall, from Westminster College and Shane Witters-Hicks, from Principia College picked up the award for the third time this fall.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Jordan Allen, Blackburn College Allen, a sophomore midfielder, helped the Beavers to a 4-2 win over Lincoln Christian last week, mounting a come from behind win for his team's second straight victory. After falling behind 2-0 Allen sparked the Beavers with a goal at the 26-minute mark. He followed with the game-tying goal at the 50-minute mark before setting up the game-winner late in the contest. |

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Tony Pitaro, Fontbonne University Pitaro, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., recorded six saves in his team's effort against Illinois Wesleyan. Pitaro played all 90-minutes of the contest, finishing with a save-percentage of .750 for the game. On the season Pitaro has totaled 20 saves for the Griffins. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Dani Pearce, Greenville University Pearce, a junior, played a key role for the Panthers as they won three games last week. Pearce picked up two assists in her team's 3-1 win over Illinois College; setting up the game-winner. Pearce added a goal in an 8-0 win over Rockford before closing out the week with a goal and two assists against Maranatha Baptist including the game-winning goal. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Mary Beers, Fontbonne University Beers, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., kept the Griffins in their game against Mount St. Joseph, tallying 15 saves in a 2-1 loss. Beers allowed two goals, accounting for a .882 save percentage in the game. The 15 saves are a career-high for Beers and give her 28 saves on the season for Fontbonne. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Anna Crank, Eureka College Crank, a senior outside hitter from Washburn, Ill., claims the weekly award after averaging 4.14 kills per set in two matches last week. Crank tallied 12 kills in a sweep of Iowa Wesleyan and followed with 17 kills against Lincoln Christian. On the week Crank hit .278 while also picking up 2.43 digs and 0.79 blocks per set. Crank averaged 5.1 points per set, totaling 36 points on the week. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Maria Soffner, Webster University Soffner, a senior from Creve Coeur, Mo., was active in the Gorloks two wins last week; averaging 8.43 digs per set. Soffner recorded 37 digs against Illinois College, ranking in the Top 10 in program history for digs in a match. She followed with 22 more digs against Fontbonne, giving her 59 digs on the week and helping extend her team's winning streak to nine. |

SLIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Shane Witters-Hicks, Principia College Witters-Hicks, a senior from Golden, Colo., picks up his third weekly honor this fall after taking 2nd place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. Battling hot conditions Witters-Hicks managed to finish the race with a time of 20:24, just five seconds behind the leader. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 25 Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College Kuykendall, a junior from Warsaw, Mo., claims her third Player of the Week award this season. Kuykendall took 2nd place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational, finishing the 5k course in a time of 19:11. |
