This week's SLIAC Players of the Week are Brock Butler, from Iowa Wesleyan University; and Hayley Reneau, from Eureka College.

 

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DECEMBER 11

Brock Butler, Iowa Wesleyan University

Butler, a senior guard, scored a career-high 39 points against Greenville in a conference home game. Butler tallied 27 of his 39 points in the first-half, scoring over half of his team's first-half points. Butler finished the game 16-of-28 shooting including a pair of three-pointers and finished with the most points by a player against Greenville this season. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in the contest and dished out five assists while playing the entire 40 minutes of action.

   

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DECEMBER 11

Hayley Reneau, Eureka College

Reneau grabs her second weekly award this season after helping Eureka both offensively and defensively to a pair of wins last week. Reneau averaged 23.7 points per game and recorded 14 steals in three games. She started the week with 23 points and four steals against Illinois Wesleyan. Reneau followed with a game-high 19 points in the Red Devils conference win over Blackburn and finishing with eight steals. She closed out her week with 29 points, knocking down five three's, against Lincoln Christian. On the week Reneau averaged 23.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 4.7 steals per game while shooting 47-percent from the field.

Other Notables: 

  • Kendahl Adams, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Spalding.
  • Kris McCann, Fontbonne University (Men's Basketball) McCann scored a career-high 27 points, adding six assists, in a win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
  • Kelsey Miller, Webster University (Women's Basketball) Miller led the Gorloks to a pair of wins last week; averaging 14.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.5 steals per game.
  • Micah Paulson, Principia College (Men's Basketball) Finished with 23 points and 5 assists in helping the Panthers top MacMurray.
  • Savion Smith, Blackburn College (Men's Basketball) Smith came off the bench and finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists to hand their opponent, Eureka, their first conference loss of the year.
  • Enrique Tankins, Webster University (Men's Basketball) Tankins filled up the box score in both of his games last week for the Gorloks; averaging 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and falling just one rebound short of a triple-double against Robert Morris-Peoria.
