AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

The Blackburn men's basketball team suffered a pair of tough losses last week, falling in overtime to both Spalding and Webster, snapping their two-game winning streak entering the week. The Beavers are now 4-4 in conference play and sit two games out of first-place in the loss column. They will host Westminster on Wednesday before traveling to MacMurray on Saturday.

Eureka College

Kerrigan Dura recorded her second career triple-double with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists while helping her team to a 90-84 win over Westminster last week. Dura previously recorded a triple-double in the season opener this year with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against Knox.

Fontbonne University

The Fontbonne women's basketball team has won two straight games after defeating MacMurray last week and edging out Iowa Wesleyan last Wednesday. The Griffins are now 8-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play. They put their two-game winning streak on the line tonight with a game against Eureka.

Greenville University

Last Saturday's basketball doubleheader against Spalding was postponed due to inclement weather. The games have been rescheduled for Monday, January 22. The women's game will tip off at 6 p.m. with the men starting at 8 p.m.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Brock Butler continues to be a scoring machine this season. Butler is leading the Tigers at 25.0 points per game, shooting 46-percent from the floor and ranking 3rd in the conference in three's with 50. He has scored in double figures in every game this season and topped 30 points four times.

MacMurray College

The MacMurray men's basketball team recorded their second conference win of the season last weekend, a 79-72 win over then first-place leading Westminster. Kendall Davis led the way with 23 points while Michael Cameron added 20 points. MacMurray will look to carry that momentum into this week when they face Iowa Wesleyan and Blackburn.

Principia College

On the heels of his triple-double and conference player of the week honor, Principia's TreVaughn Goodman was named to the d3hoops.com team of the week.

Spalding University

Spalding senior pitcher Jimi Keating was named to the 2018 D3baseball.com Preseason All-American Team. This is the first time a Golden Eagle has been named to the preseason All-America team since the program made the move to the NCAA. Keating led NCAA Division III pitchers with 11 wins and 124 strikeouts last season while holding a 1.62 earned-run average.

Webster University

The Webster men's basketball team has now won three of their last four games to improve to 5-3 in conference play, tied for third in the league standings. Webster faces Greenville and Westminster, both at home, this week as they look to surpass their previous season-best three game winning streak set in early December.

Westminster College

After setting a new program scoring record with 108 points in a win over Barclay, a record that stood for 16 years, the women's basketball team needed just three days to break that mark with 113 points in a win over Kansas Christian. The Blue Jays led the game 34-6 after the first quarter and twice tallied over 30 points in a quarter on the night. They shot 58-percent from the field and hit 13 three-pointers while setting a new program mark for field goals made in a game.
