The Blackburn College women's tennis team opened up their 2018 conference season with a 5-4 win over Fontbonne University but the win meant more than a normal conference match victory. It marked their first conference win since the 2016 season and equaled their number of conference victories for the previous three years combined.

Eureka College

The Red Devil softball team went 8-2 in their early season non-conference action and will open up SLIAC play this week with doubleheaders against Blackburn and Webster. They are also set to face Rose-Hulman on Sunday. Erin Smith is the reigning SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and is a perfect 3-0 this season with a 0.27 earned-run average.

Fontbonne University

The Fontbonne softball team will continue their home schedule when they host Iowa Wesleyan in their 2018 SLIAC opener on Wednesday. The Griffins started the year with 12 straight road games before hosting Monmouth last Sunday. The Griffins homestand will continue through next week, giving them eight straight home dates.

Greenville University

Two-time defending SLIAC Tournament champion Greenville begins their conference schedule on Wednesday with a tough matchup against Webster University in the SLIAC Game of the Week. Greenville is 2-10 overall this season and will be playing their first games since March 10 after being forced to cancel four games last weekend due to weather conditions.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Iowa Wesleyan baseball had their three-game winning streak snapped when they headed to Florida for spring break. The Tigers were sitting at 5-1 to start the season but dropped their first four games in Florida. The Tigers will play three more games over the next two days in Florida before returning home.

Principia softball dropped all six games of their opening week, falling to St. Katherine four times and Crowley's Ridge twice. The Panthers continue their six-game road trip with two more games at Westminster on Saturday before making their conference home debut against Blackburn on Tuesday.

Spalding University

Spalding continues to make noise on the diamond this spring, jumping into the national rankings after taking down previous #1 team UMass-Boston. The Golden Eagles are now 12-3 overall this season and feature an explosive offense that has plated double digit runs in seven of their games this spring.
