This Week Marks 2018 D3 Week (March 29, 2018)
This week is the nationwide NCAA Division III Week, celebrating all individuals connected to Division III and the impact that athletics and student-athletes have on the campus and their communities. Throughout the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and all across the country NCAA Division III institutions will be holding various events all week long.....MORE

This week's SLIAC Feature Friday is with Principia College men's tennis player Nat Kenworthy. Nat talks about the differences between his home of Australia and the United States, including who has the better doughnuts.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Iowa Wesleyan at Blackburn (April 3, 2018)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is the conference softball doubleheader between Iowa Wesleyan University and Blackburn College. Both teams start the week fighting for their first conference wins in 2018 and will meet on Saturday in Carlinville, Illinois with the first pitch set for 12 p.m.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

The Blackburn baseball squad swept Iowa Wesleyan last Wednesday for their first conference wins of the 2018 season. The Beavers won game one 7-4 and game two 9-2 behind strong starts from pitchers Jonathan Stepp and Jarrett Sandlin. Stepp worked seven innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out five. Sandlin threw all nine innings of game two, allowing one run and five hits while striking out eight. 

Eureka College

The Red Devils notched their first conference win of the season on Monday, taking the first game of a doubleheader against Principia by the score of 5-3. David Throw notched the win for Eureka, going 6 1/3 innings while Mason Diedrich recorded the save. Eureka is now 4-9-1 overall this season and is scheduled to face Lincoln Christian on Thursday. 

Fontbonne University

Fontbonne baseball is off to a 4-1 start this conference season including winning a three-game series against Eureka in their last time on the field. The Griffins will face Principia in a road doubleheader on Saturday as they look to keep their place atop the SLIAC West Division standings.

Greenville University

The Panthers women's track and field team placed 4th at last week's WashU Invite. Greenville collected 50 points at the meet behind a 2nd place finish in the Hammer Throw by Meredith Tate. Lia Kruse added a pair of career-best performances as well, running in the 5K and 1500 meter races.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Iowa Wesleyan will induct three members into their Hall of Fame on Friday, April 27, 2018. Being honored this year will be Heather Bell Davis ('97), Charles Harnisch ('57), and Mark T. Willis ('70). You can read the full press release HERE

MacMurray College

MacMurray announced the hiring of Chad Harmon as the new Highlanders Women's Basketball Head Coach. Harmon comes to MacMurray after most recently working with the University of Evansville. For the full article click HERE

Principia College

The Principia women's tennis team picked up their first win of 2018 with a 6-3 victory over Fontbonne University. The Panthers took two of three doubles matches to grab an early lead in the dual match. Principia also saw Hallie Jones, Olivia Kaspryk, Dani Lomascolo, and Amber Heady pick up singles wins.

Spalding University

The Spalding softball team will be anxious to get back on the field this weekend. The Golden Eagles have had three straight series postponed due to weather and have not played since March 18. Spalding is set to face Greenville in a SLIAC doubleheader in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday.

Webster University

The Webster baseball team sits at #25 in the latest ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll. The Gorloks received 64 points in the poll, dropping them three spots from last week. They are currently 11-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Webster has won two straight and returns to action with a game against WashU on Wednesday night.

Westminster College

Shannon McCaul and Jessie Kuykendall picked up first-place finishes for the Blue Jays at last weekend's Baker University Relays. McCaul won both the 5,000-meter run and 3,000-meter Steeplechase while Kuykendall took first in the 10,000-meter race.
