Webster Seniors Leave On Top (April 28, 2018)
The seniors on the 2018 Webster University women's tennis team left in the same fashion as they arrived, as St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Champions. Seniors Monica Behrle, Robin Bolme, Jesse Steffens-Willis, and Jordan Struckman finished their collegiate careers on top after the Gorloks 5-3 come from behind win against Westminster College in the championship match.....MORE

Former Fontbonne University pitcher Vinny Santarsiero is off to a strong start this season for the Tulsa Drillers, a minor league affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers.....MORE

SLIAC Softball Tournament, The Sequel (May 1, 2018)
One year ago Fontbonne University, Greenville University, Webster University, and Westminster College met in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Softball Tournament. This weekend the same four teams will meet once again to claim the conference's automatic qualifier spot in the NCAA Division III Championship.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Blackburn softball player Hannah Goett capped off her career by hitting .390 with 11 home runs and 39 runs batted in this spring. Those numbers put her first in the conference in home runs, second in RBI, and eighth in average.

Eureka College

The Eureka baseball team will wrap up their first season under head coach Jerry Rashid with four home games this week. They will host MacMurray in a doubleheader on Wednesday and Dominican (Ill.) on Friday in another doubleheader.

Fontbonne University

Fontbonne will the #3 seed in this year's softball tournament and face #2 seed Greenville in the opening round on Thursday. Fontbonne will be playing on their home field as the school is serving as this year's tournament host. 

Greenville University

Greenville University's Matt Hughes was named the 2018 SLIAC Field Athlete of the Year. Hughes compiled 32 points at the conference championship including gold in the javelin. Overall he had five top-three finishes at the meet; helping the Panthers to men's title.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Iowa Wesleyan senior softball pitcher Samantha McIlwain closed out her Tigers career as the program's career leader in strikeouts. McIlwain had 93 strikeouts this season, second in the SLIAC, and finished her career with 451. 

MacMurray College

The MacMurray softball picked up a big win last weekend, defeating Spalding 9-8 to wrap up their conference play in 2018. The Highlanders pounded out 14 hits in the walk-off win with Devin Battlefield coming through with the game-winning hit. 

Principia College

Corey Carter was one of the stars at the 2018 SLIAC Track and Field Championships last weekend. He won gold in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events as well as picking up a pair of bronze medals as a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Carter was also named the SLIAC Track Athlete and Track Newcomer of the Year.

Spalding University

Last weekend Spalding senior baseball pitcher Jimi Keating recorded his 311th career strikeout, setting a new program mark. He passed former teammate Kyle Olliges. Keating was an All-American last year and led NCAA Division III in strikeouts. 

Webster University

The Webster women's track and field team won the 2018 SLIAC Championship over the weekend, totaling 260.50 team points. The Gorloks won 10 golds, out of 22 events, on the weekend. Webster was also awarded the SLIAC Coaching Staff of the Year award and the SLIAC Field Newcomer of the Year, which went to Johnae Hightower. 

Westminster College

The Blue Jays baseball team clinched a spot in the 2018 SLIAC Tournament with a three-gamee series sweep of Fontbonne last weekend. Westminster will be the #2 seed in the East Division and face #1 seed in the West Division, Spalding University in the opening round next weekend.
