AROUND THE SLIAC
Blackburn College The Blackburn men's cross country team was in action last weekend, competing at the UIS Prairie Star Invitational. The Beavers were led by Timothy Lacy, who took 39th place in the field. He finished the 6K race in a time of 22:06, running a 5:55 mile pace. The Beavers will head to the Bradley Invitational this weekend in Peoria, Illinois. |

Eureka College The Eureka women's soccer team makes school history on Thursday night when they play the first soccer match in the history of McKinzie Field. The Red Devils will host Lincoln Christian at 7 p.m. McKinzie Field recently underwent a 10-week renovation, installing FieldTurf and lights; converting the longtime football stadium into a dual-purpose facility. |

Fontbonne University The defense for the Fontbonne men's soccer team carries a 290-minute scoreless streak into their games this weekend. The Griffins have not allowed a goal in their last three games, a stretch that has seen them go undefeated. They will host Wabash and Marian this weekend. |

Greenville University The Greenville women's soccer team evened their season record with a 1-0 win over Millikin on Tuesday. Breanna Thomas tallied the only goal of the game while Marjory Coates made threes saves in the shutout win. Greenville is now 2-2 overall and hits the road for five consecutive games. |

Iowa Wesleyan University First-year head coach Chris Early picked up his first win for the women's soccer program in a 3-2 win over Mount Mary last Saturday. All of the scoring in the game happened in the second-half with Grace Alongi netting the game-winning goal to cap off a hat-trick in the contest. |

MacMurray College After dropping their first three games of the season the MacMurray men's soccer picked up a tie against Emmaus Bible College on Friday. The Highlanders fought back after falling behind early. MacMurray will look to find the win column this weekend with games at home against Hendrix and Marian. |

Principia College The Principia men's soccer team found their first win of the season last Saturday, defeating Monmouth 5-1. Kaleb Keller led the attack with four goals and an assist. The Panthers are now 1-2 on the season and will host Central and Simpson this weekend. |

Spalding University Spalding freshman Claudia Spivey was named the SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 13 blocks in three conference matches last week. Spivey averaged 1.18 blocks per set in sparking the Golden Eagles to their first two wins of the season. She had a high of seven blocks in a win over MacMurray. |

Webster University The Webster men's soccer team has jumped to a fast start this season, winning three straight games and sitting with a 3-1 overall record. The Gorloks have allowed just three goals this season and picked up overtime wins in each of their last two games. The Gorloks face cross town school WashU on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. before hosting Rhodes and Hendrix this weekend. |

Westminster College The Westminster women's basketball team will be headed out to Colorado for an exhibition game against the University of Colorado on December 21. This marks the second NCAA Division I opponent the Blue Jays will face this season; they will also play the University of Evansville on November 21. |
