Four SLIAC Programs Earn NFCA Academic Team Honors (Oct. 4)
Greenville University, Iowa Wesleyan University, Spalding University, and Webster University each earned 2017 NFCA Academic Team Honors. Greenville Edges Westminster In SLIAC Game of the Week (Oct. 6, 2017)
In a battle to move to 2-0 in conference play, Greenville University picked up a 2-1 victory on the road over Westminster College in the SLIAC Game of the Week. Both teams won their conference opener last week and were looking to maintain an early lead in the standings with the win.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
Blackburn College Blackburn College will hold a "Meet the Beavers" night on Thursday, October 19th. The night includes BBQ dinner at 6 p.m. and will be followed by basketball activities at 7:45 p.m. There will be raffle tickets available as well as a dunk contest and three-point shooting contest. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children and can be purchased HERE. |

Eureka College Daniel Johnson set a new men's soccer program record for career saves, surpassing the previous mark of 293 held by Tyler Mumm (2010-13). Johnson broke the record in a seven-save shutout win over Emmaus Bible last Saturday. The win was Johnson's 16th of his career, also a program record, and marked his first shutout since September of 2016. |

Fontbonne University The Fontbonne men's and women's soccer teams both sit at 2-1 in conference play this season. The men's team is in fourth place in the standings while the women are tied for fourth. Both programs will have two conference games this week, at Greenville on Thursday and hosting Blackburn on Saturday. |

Greenville University Greenville University volleyball swept the SLIAC Player of the Week awards this week. Senior Allyson Mitchell was named Offensive Player of the Week while Brittni Bell earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Mitchell finished with 11 kills, 6 digs, and 3 block assists in her team's only match of the week while Bell tallied one solo block and four block assists in just three sets during the win. |

Iowa Wesleyan University The Tigers men's soccer team suffered their first conference loss this season, a 3-1 loss to Fontbonne on Sunday. Iowa Wesleyan is 5-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the SLIAC. The Tigers return to action this week with a pair of road games. They are at Blackburn on Thursday and at Principia on Saturday. |

MacMurray College MacMurray College senior Lyndi Saccaro helped the Highlanders women's soccer team to their first conference win of the season, defeating Eureka. Saccaro netted four goals in the 7-0 win, scoring her first goal just five minutes into the game. She tallied her four goals on just six shots. |

Principia College The Principia men's soccer team continues to defy pre-season expectations. The Panthers were picked sixth in the SLIAC Preseason Poll, have won three straight games and sit tied for first place in the SLIAC standings; one of just three undefeated conference teams remaining. Principia will face Eureka on Thursday before hosting Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday. |

Spalding University Spalding women's soccer player Baylee Tabler put her name into the NCAA Division III record books by netting the first goal in her team's 9-0 win over Eureka. Tabler scored just 12-seconds into the game, marking the 10th fastest game-opening goal in D3 women's soccer history. |

Webster University Webster University once again held their annual Webster Works Worldwide, a community service event. This marks the 23rd consecutive year the Gorloks have come together to join in various community service projects such as clean-up at Forest Park, elementary school reading, and visiting Alexian Brothers Hospital. Westminster College The Westminster College volleyball team rolled off their eighth straight win on Tuesday night. Westminster improves to 13-8 overall and 12-1 in the SLIAC. The win also clinched a spot in the 2017 SLIAC Volleyball Tournament for the Blue Jays. Westminster puts their winning streak on the line this Saturday when they travel to Louisville to face Greenville and Webster for neutral site matches. |
