MacMurray and Webster Receive USC Award(Dec. 19, 2018)
MacMurray College and Webster University have received the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award for the 2018 season. The pair were the only representatives from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to receive the award, and two of just 167 men's and women's college and high school programs nationwide honored by the organization.....MORE

Gorloks Ranked 15th in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll (December 30, 2018)
With the start of preseason practice for baseball a little more than a month away, Webster University opens the 2019 season ranked 15th in the Preseason NCAA Division III Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Iowa Wesleyan at Fontbonne (Jan. 8, 2019)
This week we return for the first full week of conference play and our SLIAC Game of the Week is between the Iowa Wesleyan University and Fontbonne University women's basketball teams. Both teams begin the week with a 2-3 SLIAC record, tied for 5th place in the standings.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

The Blackburn men's basketball team has won two straight games to even their conference record to 3-3 on the year. The Beavers will face Webster on Wednesday as they look to even their overall record this season as they are currently 6-7 overall.

Eureka College

Eureka has named Blake Baxter as the school's new Media Relations Coordinator. Baxter, a 2013 graduate of Eureka College, comes back to campus after previously working as a newspaper reporter covering high school and college sports in Iowa and Nebraska.

Fontbonne University

The Fontbonne women's basketball team picked up a 71-55 win over Blackburn last Saturday and will host a pair of conference games this week as they look to build a winning streak. The Griffins host Eureka on Wednesday and Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.

Greenville University

The Panthers women's team notched back to back wins last week and will host Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday as they look to improve on their 10-3 overall record. The first-place Panthers will then have showdown against second-place Westminster on Saturday.

Iowa Wesleyan University

The Tigers men's team took down MacMurray 73-63 last week to get back into the win column, snapping a two-game losing streak. The Tigers are 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the SLIAC and will face Greenville on the road on Wednesday before continuing their road trip with a game at Fontbonne on Saturday.

MacMurray College

Chassidy Hays added to her monumental freshman campaign with a 31 point, 23 rebound outing against Illinois College. For her efforts Hays was named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, averaging 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds over four games. She is currently averaging a double-double on the season and leads the conference in rebounding.

Principia College

Panther Trevaughn Goodman had quite the two weeks, averaging 23.5 points and 12.3 rebounds over four games. The Panthers will face Webster on Saturday in a road contest. 

Spalding University

Marcus Montgomery claimed SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors this week after an outstanding 51 point performance against Greenville. Montgomery's 51 points are the second highest total in conference history. He averaged 26.0 points over five games, shooting 59-percent from the field, to secure the award.

Webster University

Webster junior men's soccer player Justin Schmidt received Third Team Scholar All-America Team honors by the United Soccer Coaches. Schmidt is just the second Gorlok to earn Scholar All-American honors from the United Soccer Coaches, joining women's soccer player AshleyMess who received the honor in 2015.

Westminster College

After suffering their first conference loss of the season on Saturday to Webster, the Blue Jays women's team rebounded with a 79-55 victory over Principia on Tuesday night. Next up for Westminster are a pair of home games against Greenville and MacMurray.
