MacMurray Celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day (Feb. 18, 2019)
Two SLIAC players have earned early-season national recognition and were named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. Luke Summers, from Fontbonne, and Dillon Sievert, from Spalding, were among the 13 players honored for their performance last week. Full release

Greenville, Spalding, Webster, Westminster Ready For Tournament Chase (Feb. 19, 2019)
The 2019 SLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament field features the only four teams that recorded double-digit conference wins this season; Greenville University, Spalding University, Webster University, and Westminster College. It marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that at least four teams have reached that mark.....MORE

Blackburn, Eureka, Greenville, Webster Set For Tournament Dreams (Feb. 19, 2019)
Blackburn College, Eureka College, Greenville University, and Webster University edged out the remaining six teams in the SLIAC to qualify for the 2019 Men's Basketball Tournament. Webster secured hosting rights to the tournament after going 15-3 in conference play and winning their first outright SLIAC regular season title since 2012.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

For the second straight season the Blackburn men's basketball team made a late season push to qualify for the SLIAC Tournament. The Beavers secured their spot with the help of a big win on Senior Day last Saturday with Jamaya Wyatt leading the way with 28 points and 19 rebounds. This marks the first time since 2005 and 2006 that the Beavers have made the tournament in back-to-back seasons.

Eureka College

The Eureka men's basketball team is one of the hottest teams in the league, having won four straight conference games as they come into the tournament. Eureka will be the #3 seed in the tournament and face #2 seeded Greenville in a matchup of the top two scoring teams in the league.

Fontbonne University

Rylee Stafford, a sophomore on the Griffins women's basketball team, was named the SLIAC Player of the Week. Stafford averaged 27.5 points over two games including netting a career-high 31 points in a win over Iowa Wesleyan. It was her second weekly award this season.

Greenville University

Greenville will be host for the 2019 SLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament this week. Semifinal games will be on Thursday with the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. Greenville will face Webster in the second semifinal game of the night at 8 p.m.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Darby Massner signed off on her Tiger career with the women's basketball team by helping the Tigers to a win on Senior Night. She finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds, her 13th double-double of the season.  

MacMurray College

Seniors on the MacMurray men's basketball team walked away as winners after an 81-75 win on Senior Day. Derek Bourke led the way for the senior class with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Also being honored before the game were fellow seniors Wade Fox, Keegan Potter, JD Church, and Hunter Flesner.

Principia College

Micah Paulson completed his Panther career by picking up the final SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season and becoming the school's career scoring leader. Paulson averaged 32.0 points per game in three games last week and finished with 1579 points, surpassing the previous mark held by his coach Todd Zimmerman.

Spalding University

The Spalding baseball team opened their season with an impressive 8-5 win over #2 Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the first two innings to take control including a home run by Dillon Sievert to lead off the game. Sievert would also pick up the win on the mound and be named SLIAC Pitcher of the Week.

Webster University

The Webster men's basketball team will host the 2019 SLIAC Tournament, marking the first time the Gorloks have won the conference regular season title outright since 2012. The Gorloks will face Blackburn in the opening round of the tournament on Friday.

Westminster College

Although their playoff seed was wrapped up the Blue Jays women's basketball team still had a memorable regular season finale. Kendahl Adams reached the 1,000 point mark for her Blue Jay career, doing so in just 52 games. Kallee Dowler also set the program mark for three-pointers in a season.
