Greenville to Face George Fox in Opening Round (Feb. 26, 2019)
The women's basketball team will head to the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III tournament hosted by WashU in St. Louis, Mo. The Panthers qualified for their second NCAA national tournament by winning the championship of the SLIAC tournament on Saturday. Greenville (23-4) has tied the school record established in 2016-17 for wins in a season, and they will play No. 11 George Fox (24-3) on Friday at 5 p.m. in Washington University Field House.....MORE

On Monday, in a room full of its biggest supporters, the Eureka College men's basketball team learned which team it will face in its long-awaited first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.....MORE

Blackburn College Karson Hayes became the first Beaver to earn First Team All-Conference honors since 2007. Hayes, a junior guard, averaged 19.5 points per game this season, ranking 2nd in the league in three-point percentage and 7th in free-throw percentage. |

Eureka College The Eureka men's basketball team captured the program's first-ever SLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament title with a 70-69 win last Saturday. The Red Devils had been winless in their previous three championship opportunities but came away winners to take the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. |

Fontbonne University The Griffins baseball team is off to a 5-0 start this season including a three-game series sweep of Nebraska Wesleyan. Fontbonne's Jackson Penrod is off to a fast start, hitting .389 with 5 RBI and earned SLIAC Hitter of the Week honors this week. Meanwhile, pitcher, Luke Summers is 2-0 on the mound with a 0.56 earned-run average and 24 strikeouts in 16 innings. |

Greenville University The Greenville women's basketball team won their second SLIAC Tournament in four years after a 72-66 victory in front of their home crowd on Friday night. The Panthers are 23-4 overall, equalling their most wins since joining the SLIAC. |

Iowa Wesleyan University Darby Massner was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team. She was one of 37 student-athletes in NCAA Division III and the only representative from the SLIAC. For the full release click HERE |

MacMurray College MacMurray College picked up both the Men's and Women's SLIAC Newcomer of the Year awards in basketball. Logan Dorethy was received the men's award after averaging 17.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while Chassidy Hays won the women's award after averaging 15.1 points and 12.6 rebounds per game and leading the SLIAC in field goal percentage. |

Principia College Micah Paulson became the first Panther in program history to be named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Paulson, a senior guard, led the league with a 26.3 points per game scoring average; finishing 2nd in the league in both field goals made and three-point field goals made as well as 5th in free throws made. He scored in double figures in every game this season and had seven 30 point games. |

Spalding University Spalding's Alex Martin and Charlie Just took home two the league's top individual awards in women's basketball this season. Martin, a senior guard, was named the SLIAC Player of the Year after averaging 18.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 steals per game; ranking in the top ten in the conference in points, total rebounds, assists, and steals. Charlie Just received the 2019 SLIAC Coach of the Year award, the 3rd in his career. |

Webster University Webster men's basketball head coach Chris Bunch was named the 2019 SLIAC Coach of the Year. Bunch led the Gorloks to a 20-7 overall record, going 15-3 in SLIAC play. It marked the Gorloks first outright regular season SLIAC title since 2012. This is the 5th time in his career he has taken home top coaching honors. |
