Gorloks, Scire Reach Milestone Win (Oct. 5, 2018)
Junior forward Melissa Kasper scored two of her team's three goals to give both head coach Luigi Scire and the Webster University women's soccer program their 300th all-time victory here Wednesday evening as the Gorloks earned a 3-1 victory over Westminster College in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at Westminster Field.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Webster at Greenville (Oct. 9, 2018)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week features two of the winningest programs in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball when Webster University visits Greenville University. The two teams have combined to win 16 SLIAC Tournament Championships.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Senior golfer Anthony Harper picked up medalist honors, winning the MacMurray Fall Invitational in a playoff. Harper shot a 76, tying for first place, and then won a two-hole playoff. The Beavers finished second overall with a team score of 329.

 

Eureka College

The Eureka men's soccer team picked up their first conference win of the season in a 4-0 victory over MacMurray. The Red Devils had four different players notch a goal while Moises Aldana made two saves in net for the shutout.

Fontbonne University

The Griffins women's soccer team extended their shutout streak to five games after a 1-0 win over Spalding on Tuesday. The Griffins are now 7-5-1 overall and 4-0 in the SLIAC. Caroline Neal netted the only goal of the game, her fourth of the season, while Makayla Hussong made 10 saves in the shutout.

Greenville University

Greenville picked up a soccer sweep of Principia on Tuesday night with the men winning a 2-1 overtime thriller and the women coming away 7-1 winners. Jared McPeek tallied both goals for the men's team including the winner in the 107th minute. Breanna Thomas led the way with two goals while Dani Pearce had a goal and four assists.

Iowa Wesleyan University

It was a big weekend for the Tigers volleyball team, picking up two conference wins. The Tigers edged out both Eureka and Westminster by identical 3-2 scores. The win over Westminster snapped a nine-match losing streak in the series while the back-to-back wins marked the first time the program has done that since September of 2016.

MacMurray College

The MacMurray women's soccer team stopped a three-game losing streak with an 8-0 win over Eureka, notching their first SLIAC win of the season. The Highlanders scored all eight goals in the first 45-minutes including three from Kaylee McLanahan. 

Principia College

Principia has started a new series called Student Above and Beyond, celebrating student-athletes making their mark beyond athletics. The debut story features Alexandra Weitman, a 2018 graduate. You can read the story on Alexandra HERE

Spalding University

The Spalding men's soccer team picked up a big 3-2 overtime win over Fontbonne on Tuesday night. Abnel St. Fleur buried the game-winning goal in the 97th minute to help the Golden Eagles remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0-1 record.

Webster University

The Webster men's soccer team stayed atop the SLIAC standings after a 4-0 win over Blackburn on Tuesday night. The Gorloks extend their winning streak to three games and improve to 3-0 in the SLIAc. Prior to the game, Tuesday Webster honored their three seniors: Tucker Hively, Charlie McGhee, and Eric Tate.

Westminster College

The Westminster men's soccer team stopped their skid, notching their first conference win of the season and first victory in nearly a month. The Blue Jays won 5-4 in double overtime against Eureka with Matthew Schulte netting the game-winner in the 104th minute.
