SLIAC Game of the Week: Westminster at Eureka (Dec. 4, 2018)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is a women's basketball contest between Eureka College and Westminster College. The two teams both made the SLIAC Tournament last season but are on opposite sides of the standings early on in 2018.....MORE

Westminster's Gundy Earns Academic All-America Honors (Dec. 4, 2018)
Westminster College senior Heidi Gundy was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America third team after her work in the classroom and on the field this season.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Blackburn is spotlighting a senior from their basketball team each Saturday. This past week they highlighted Cleo Whisenton, a guard on the men's basketball team. You can read Cleo's story HERE

Eureka College

The Eureka men's basketball team is in the midst of a five-game losing streak. Eureka, 1-7 overall, will host Westminster this Saturday and closes out the first half of the season with a road game against Blackburn on December 15th. They will play an exhibition contest against McKendree on Wednesday, December 19. 

Fontbonne University

The Griffins women's basketball team hosts Principia on Thursday night and Central (Iowa) on Saturday. The Griffins are currently 2-3 on the season and are led by Raven Venegas (12.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game). 

Greenville University

The Greenville women's basketball team is 4-2 overall this season. They are coming off a loss to Washington-St. Louis on Monday and continue their out of conference schedule with games against St. Mary of the Woods and Robert Morris-Springfield this weekend.  

Iowa Wesleyan University

Athletic Director Derek Zander announced that Chris Creal will head up the re-launch of the Tigers Track and Field program. Creal recently finished his first season as the Tigers men's and women's cross country coach. For the full release click HERE

MacMurray College

MacMurray women's basketball will sport gold laces this weekend during their upcoming tournament. The look is done to help raise awareness for pediatric cancer, in partnership with Go4theGoal. The Highlanders host the Sleep Inn Classic this weekend, which features four teams in games on Friday and Saturday. 

Principia College

The Principia women's basketball team recognized senior Liz McAloney at their game against Spalding on Tuesday. McAloney will be graduating in December and finished with four points and five rebounds in the game.

Spalding University

Spalding senior guard Alex Martin reached a career milestone last weekend, tallying her 1,000th career point. Martin scored 12 points in her team's 80-68 win over Eureka; becoming the 10th player in program history to reach the mark. 

Webster University

After a non-conference loss to Missouri Baptist on Tuesday night the Gorloks men's basketball team returns to SLIAC play this week with a home game against MacMurray on Saturday. The Gorloks will then wrap up the first-half of the season with a conference road game against Spalding on December 15. 

Westminster College

Kendahl Adams recently reached the 1,000 point mark for her career. This is Adams' second season with the Blue Jays, previously playing at Stephens College and UMSL. She set the Blue Jay single-season scoring mark last year with 522 points.
