Blue Jays Top WashU In Women's Basketball (Dec. 7, 2018)
Westminster women's basketball notched the program's first win over perennial Division III power Washington University after Kendahl Adams hit a three-pointer with 6.7 seconds left to secure the 70-68 Blue Jay win. This marks the first win by a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team over Washington-St. Louis since the 2005-06 season when Maryville University was still a member of the SLIAC.....MORE

MacMurray SAAC Donates Over 500 Canned Goods (Dec. 11, 2018)
 The MacMurray College SAAC collected 566 items for the Jacksonville Food Bank, as part of a two-day Hoops & Helping event last week. Items were donated at both the Highlander men's and women's basketball games on Wednesday and Friday evening.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Blackburn senior Alanni Young closed out her volleyball career as the program's all-time leader in kills. Young, from Glasford, Illinois, totaled 617 kills during her three-year Beaver career. She reached double-digit kills 23 times during her career, leading the Beavers in kills in 2016 and 2018. 

Eureka College

The Eureka women's basketball team will be busy before closing out the year. The Red Devils, on a four-game losing streak, will have road games against Blackburn and Millikin in their next two contests before returning home to face Anderson next week. Eureka will then close out the year with an exhibition game against Eastern Illinois on December 30th.  

Fontbonne University

The Fontbonne men's basketball team dropped their overall record to 4-4 after losing to Washington-St. Louis despite 28 points from Luke DeLine. DeLine currently ranks 4th in the league in scoring with 22.3 points per game. He has topped 20 points in six of eight games this season, twice reaching 30 points.

Greenville University

The Greenville men's basketball team has won four straight games and will close out 2018 with a game against MacMurray on Saturday. The Panthers are 6-4 overall and tied atop the SLIAC standings with a 3-0 conference record. Eric Williams is leading the team at 20.4 points per game this season.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Tiger senior forward Darby Massner reached the 1,000 point mark for her career last weekend. Massner scored 21 points against Spalding to eclipse the career milestone. She is averaging 16.7 points per game this season for Iowa Wesleyan.

MacMurray College

Chassiday Hays had a day to remember last weekend, finishing with 40 points and 21 rebounds in a game against St. Mary of the Woods. Both marks are believed to be Highlander program records and the feat marks her fourth double-double of the season. The freshman is averaging 16.1 points and 13.4 rebounds per game this season while leading the conference in field goal percentage.

Principia College

The Principia College campus came together on Saturday, December 1st to take the "It's On Us" pledge. The event encouraged students, staff, faculty, and fans to pledge to not being a bystander when it comes to sexual assault and also help bring awareness to the nationwide need to rid college campuses of sexual assault.

Spalding University

Spalding University midfielder Tenko Kono has been named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region. Kono earned Second Team honors, becoming the second Golden Eagle to earn Scholar All-Region recognition in the last three years (Joey Lesher). Kono recorded two goals and three assists while helping the Golden Eagles to a SLIAC regular season title this year and picking up First Team All-Conference honors.

Webster University

Three Gorlok soccer players earned Scholar All-Region honors this week. Justin Schmidt, a defender on the men's soccer team, was named Second Team Scholar All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches while Lilly Brauer and Melissa Kasper, from the women's program, were also named Second Team by the organization.

Westminster College

The Blue Jays basketball teams swept conference weekly honors this week as Nolan Huot was named SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week and Kendahl Adams was named SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Huot scored 29 points off the bench to carry Westminster to a win over Eureka. Adams averaged 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over three Blue Jay wins last week.
