MacMurray College To Raise Money For Cystic Fibrosis

MacMurray College, a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), will hold Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day on September 17th in Jacksonville, Ill. The event will take place during the SLIAC quad matches which will feature volleyball teams from Greenville College, Iowa Wesleyan University, MacMurray College and Webster University.

There will be free admission to all games, with two games at 11 a.m. and two more at 1 p.m. In addition there will be silent auction items, a 50/50 raffle, and donations will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gateway Chapter in St. Louis.

Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, established in 1955 , is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Their mission is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. 

Stop by Wall Gymnasium on the campus of MacMurray College on September 17th and help raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and help "Add Tomorrows". Hope to see you there!

The SLIAC is a NCAA Division III conference with 10 members across four states. Members include Blackburn College, Eureka College, Fontbonne University, Greenville College, Iowa Wesleyan University, MacMurray College, Principia College, Spalding University, Webster University, and Westminster College. The SLIAC, founded in 1989, sponsors 14 NCAA Division III championship sports.
