Webster Leads SLIAC All-Sports Race After Fall Season

Webster University holds the top spot in the standings for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophy race after the 2017 fall seasons. Webster is atop the standings with 45.5 total points thanks to a pair of first-place finishes; Women's Cross Country and Women's Soccer. The Gorloks did not finish lower than third place in any of the five fall sports they competed in this year.

Greenville University and Spalding University are tied for second in the standings with 39 points. Greenville picked up a first-place finish in Men's Cross Country and added second-place finishes in Women's Cross Country, Women's Soccer, and Volleyball. 

Spalding's fall was highlighted by a championship title in the first ever SLIAC Women's Golf Championship. The Golden Eagles picked up 10 of their points with the first-place finish.

Just behind them is Westminster College with 37 points. The Blue Jays recorded a first-place finish in volleyball and added a second place finish in Women's Soccer and a third-place finish in Women's Cross Country.

Fontbonne sits in fifth place in the standings with 36 points, using a first-place finish in Men's Soccer, a second-place finish in Women's Golf, and tying for second in Women's Soccer.

Principia College is the only other school to top 30 points this fall, with 35 total points. The Panthers big point getter was a second-place finish in Men's Cross Country while adding three more fourth-place finishes (Women's Cross Country, Men's Soccer, and Volleyball). 

Iowa Wesleyan University totaled 19.5 points this fall and is followed by MacMurray College (19 points), Blackburn College (16 points), and Eureka College (13 points).

Webster has won a conference record 16 All-Sports Trophies. Fontbonne (2003-04), Maryville (1998-99) and Westminster (2015-16) are the only other schools to win the trophy since it was first awarded. To see the full SLIAC All-Sports Trophy standings click HERE
