Iowa Wesleyan To Celebrate Community Involvement

Iowa Wesleyan University is excited to announce our Tiger Athletic Appreciation Day on February 3, 2018.  The community is invited to cheer on the Tigers as the men's and women's basketball teams will compete in a doubleheader vs. Webster University.

"Tiger Athletic Appreciation Day has been a great event for us and we are excited to host it once again. This event started as a way to recognize businesses, donors, alumni, and fans for their support of Tiger athletics, and we have continued to host it as we appreciate the continued support we receive from the community," said Iowa Wesleyan Director of Athletics, Derek Zander. "Without the support of so many people, we wouldn't be able to provide such a great atmosphere for our student-athletes."

Both the men's and women's basketball teams will have tough tests ahead of them as Webster is in the top half of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) standings at this time.

Doors open at noon. The first game is set to tip-off at 1 pm in Ruble Arena with the men's game following at 3 pm. Bring a canned food item for free entry. All items donated will benefit the Fellowship Cup.  The first 100 fans in the door to receive a special Tiger Fan giveaway and our Tiger Fan Zone will have opportunities for children to win prizes and have fun with different activities.

Iowa Wesleyan's own Prime Voces will sing the National Anthem. Entertainment throughout the day includes youth basketball, a half-court shot, and coloring contest. The Hy-Vee Fit awards ceremony will also be taking place during halftime of the men's game.
