Illig Highlights USTFCCCA Honors

Webster University's Meghan Illig highlights the list of United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) award winners from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). Illig is the lone individual representative from the SLIAC to earn All-Academic honors while track and field teams from Fontbonne University, Greenville University, Principia College, and Webster University.

The Fontbonne University women's track and field team finished with a team grade-point average of 3.59 this past season. Greenville University's women's team had a mark of 3.45 to earn the award. Both the men's and women's programs from Principia College earned the honors. The men's team compiled a team grade-point average of 3.23 while the women finished with a mark of 3.62. The Webster University women's team was the final program from the conference to earn the honor, finishing with a grade-point average of 3.23. 

There were a total of 627 women that received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2017-18 track & field seasons. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship and finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List. There were a total of 291 teams honored by the USTFCCCA, 185 women's teams and 106 men's teams, that finished with a team G.P.A. of 3.10 or above; earning the academic award.
