Moore Appointed Eureka Director of Athletics

Bryan Moore has been appointed Director of Athletics at Eureka College effective Nov. 1, the College announced Thursday. Moore, who has led the department on an interim basis since July 1, has directed the department's communications efforts for nearly eight years.

"I am very proud to be chosen to lead the Eureka College Department of Athletics," Moore said. "I want to thank President Wright, Vice President Mike Murtagh and the search committee for providing me this incredible opportunity. I'm eager to continue working with our coaches, student-athletes, staff and campus community to continue moving the Red Devils forward. We are in the midst of an extraordinary era of Eureka College Athletics and I am confident our brightest days are still ahead."

Moore arrived 'Neath the Elms as Sports Information Director in 2009, serving as the Athletic Department's primary contact for national, regional and local media. His contributions helped usher the Red Devils into the digital era, including the launch of EurekaRedDevils.com in 2012, as well as the implementation of live online video broadcasts and live online statistics. Moore has also played a pivotal role in the founding and cultivation of the department's robust social media presence.

Since 2016, Moore has served the College in an expanded role as Director of Media Relations. He has coordinated campus-wide communications initiatives in conjunction with the College's marketing department and was the project coordinator for the major re-launch of Eureka.edu in February 2017.

"We are fortunate to have someone with Bryan's experience and strength of leadership to serve as our Director of Athletics," Eureka College President Jamel Santa Cruze Wright said. "Bryan is highly collaborative, understands the role of athletics within the broader fabric of the institution and has an unflinching commitment to ensuring a top-notch experience for our student-athletes. He is the right person to lead Eureka College Athletics into its next generations of success."

He began his athletics communication career as a secondary media contact and occasional play-by-play broadcaster with the Peoria Chiefs in 2005. Additionally, Moore was the primary media contact for half of Bradley University's NCAA Division I athletics programs during a two-year internship with the Braves in Peoria, Ill. from 2007 through 2009.

Moore graduated from Western Illinois in Macomb with a bachelor's degree in broadcasting in 2006. He regularly traveled with the Leathernecks' football program and worked closely with the institution's athletics media services staff as a student television broadcaster in football, men's basketball and women's basketball.

A native of East Peoria and a lifelong resident of Central Illinois, Moore married the former Laura Willman in 2012. They reside in East Peoria with their 2-year-old son, Bennett, and are expecting a second child in November 2018.
