SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Blake Smugala, Fontbonne University

Smugala, a senior, came up big for the Griffins when they need it. The senior midfielder tallied two goals in each of the Griffins final two games of the regular season as they pushed for a playoff spot. He had two goals and an assist in a win against MacMurray, scoring on just three shots on goal. Then against rival Webster, Smugala netted his team's only two goals in a 2-1 double overtime win. 

     
   

SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Drew Blair, Fontbonne University

Drew Blair picks up his second weekly honor this season after recording two wins in net for the Griffins. Blair, a freshman from Rolla, Mo., allowed just one goal in each of the games while stopping a total of seven shots. He played over 177 minutes in the two games and finished with a 78-percent save percentage on the week. He had a high of six saves in a win over Webster.

     
   

SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Gracie Koonce, Westminster College

Gracie Koonce concludes her regular season with her second conference award this year. Koonce, a midfielder, finished with 17 total points in helping the Blue Jays to a pair of wins last week. She started with a goal and three assists in a 4-0 win over Principia. She followed with a record-setting day against Blackburn, netting five goals with two assists; breaking marks for career goals, career points, single-game goals, and single-game points.

     
   

SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Alisa Coralic, Webster University

Coralic, a senior, helped the Gorloks wrap up another undefeated regular season conference schedule. Coralic notched two victories in net, making a total of eight saves in the two shutout wins last week. Facing cross-town rival, Fontbonne, Coralic recorded eight saves and picked up her fifth shutout of the season.

     
   

SLIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Abby Freeman, Greenville University

Abby Freeman receives her sixth weekly award this year after closing out the regular season with 54 kills last week in two wins. Freeman tallied 24 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 win over Eureka, adding nine aces. She topped that performance with 30 kills in a five-set win over Fontbonne, finishing with 11 digs as well. On the week she averaged 6.0 kills per set while hitting .250 and chipping in with 2.56 digs per set.

     
   

SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week - Oct. 29
Mia Gill, Principia College

Gill, a senior from Elgin, Ill., picks up her third award of the season. She recorded 68 total digs on the week, in just two matches; averaging 7.56 digs per set. Gill set a Principia record for digs in a four-set match with 43 in a win over Westminster. Gill also added three service aces on the week.

  • Matt Amick, Webster University (Soccer) Made 19 saves, finishing with a 91-percent save percentage in two games last week.
  • Sarah Borgerding, Fontbonne University (Volleyball) Finished with a total of 23 digs last week for the Griffins.
  • Sarah Cradick, Westminster College (Soccer) Played 180 scoreless minutes in net, making two saves.
  • Kaleb Keller, Principia College (Soccer) Extended his goal-scoring streak to six games with four goals and two assists in two wins last week.
  • Molly Kovarik, Fontbonne University (Soccer) Recorded two goals and one assist in a victory over MacMurray, moving into second place on the program's season scoring list.
  • Lida Landre, Iowa Wesleyan University (Volleyball) Averaged 3.44 kills per set in two wins last week including a high of 17 in a win over Spalding.
  • Devon Marunde, Principia College (Volleyball) Had two double-double outings, averaging 10.11 assists and 4.0 digs per set in two wins last week.
  • Trevor Massa, Spalding University (Soccer) Totaled 17 saves in two outings last week for the Golden Eagles. 
  • Jenna Murphy, Iowa Wesleyan University (Volleyball) Put up 32 digs in a win over Spalding.
  • Bridget Ringwald, Westminster College (Volleyball) Recorded 71 total digs in three matches including a high of 28 against Principia.
  • Sarah Rivers, Westminster College (Volleyball) Hit .281 in three matches last week with a high of 11 kills against Blackburn.
  • Phillip Udinyiwe, Westminster College (Soccer) Tallied two goals in two games last week including the game-winner against Blackburn.
  • Joi Wilson, Webster University (Soccer) Tallied three goals and an assist in two wins for the Gorloks.
