SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 7
Marcus Montgomery, Spalding University

Marcus Montgomery, a sophomore guard from Louisville, Ill., is the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 26.0 points in five games over winter break. Montgomery reached double figures in scoring in all five games and tallied a school record 51 points against Greenville while adding two other 20-point games. He shot 59-percent from the field during the two-week stretch and connected on 17-of-32 three-pointers while also going 17-of-19 from the free-throw line.

     
 

SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 7
Chassidy Hays, MacMurray College

Hays, a freshman forward, was a dominant force for the Highlanders over winter break; averaging 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in four games. She shot 55-percent from the floor and added seven steals and two blocked shots. Hays put together a 31 point and 23 rebound game against Illinois College, setting a school record for rebounds in a game. She is currently averaging a double-double this season.

  • Kendahl Adams, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Put up 26 points with 10 rebounds in a win over Spalding.
  • Addison Beussink, Webster University (Women's Basketball) Averaged 15.7 points per game in three wins for the Gorloks, shooting 66-percent from the field.
  • Kennedy Dura, Eureka College (Women's Basketball) Narrowly missed a triple-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists against Millikin.
  • Trevaughn Goodman, Principia College (Men's Basketball) Goodman averaged 23.5 points and 12.3 rebounds over four games for the Panthers with two games of 32 points.
  • Karson Hayes, Blackburn College (Men's Basketball) Hayes topped 20 points four times in five games including a 24 point, six steal effort against Loras.
  • Darby Massner, Iowa Wesleyan University (Women's Basketball) Massner scored 33 points while grabbing 20 rebounds in a win over Blackburn.
  • Morgan St. James, Greenville University (Women's Basketball) St. James recorded back-to-back double-doubles for Greenville, averaging 14.7 points and 9.0 rebounds over three games.
  • Hank Thomas, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Averaged 16.5 points and 8.0 assists in two games for the Red Devils. 
  • Eric Williams, Greenville University (Men's Basketball) Averaged 28.5 points in a pair of wins.
