SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 21
Rodson Etienne, Webster University

Etienne, a sophomore from West Palm Beach, Fla., had a week to remember in leading the Gorloks to a pair of conference wins. Etienne recorded back to back 30 point games, becoming the first Gorlok to reach that mark in two straight games in 18 years. Etienne tallied 31 points and seven rebounds, with six assists, in a win over Greenville. He followed with 30 points and 13 rebounds against rival Fontbonne. On the week he averaged 30.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 67-percent from the field. 

     
 

SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 21
Kallee Dowler, Westminster College

Dowler, a sophomore guard, helped the Blue Jays offense bust out last week for a pair of 100 point games. Dowler scored 17 points, on 5-of-11 shooting, in the first game of the week; a 114-66 win over MacMurray. She capped off her week with a career-high 30 points in Westminster's 103-61 victory over Iowa Wesleyan. Dowler knocked down eight three-pointers in the win, tying a school record for three-pointers in a game. She finished 12-of-21 from three-point range on the week, averaging 23.5 points and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 59-percent from the field.

Other Notables:

  • Dakota Bennington, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Finished with 32 points and 11 rebounds in helping the Red Devils to a win over Iowa Wesleyan.
  • Clark Davidson, Principia College (Men's Basketball) - Averaged 23.0 points and 15.0 rebounds in two games for the Panthers last week, shooting 76-percent from the field.
  • Shelby Fink, MacMurray College (Women's Basketball) - Fink tallied back to back 20 point games for the Highlanders, averaging 23.0 points and 7.5 rebounds over the two games.
