SLIAC Players of the Week - February 4
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for February 4 are Dakota Bennington, from Eureka College, and Alex Martin, from Spalding University.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 4 Bennington wins his second weekly conference award this season after averaging a double-double in two games last week. The junior from Peoria, Illinois put up 25.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, shooting 55-percent from the field. He also dished out six assists in the two games and recorded three steals. Bennington finished with 25 points and three steals against Blackburn before helping his team to a win over Webster with a 26 point, 16 rebound, 5 assist effort. |

SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 4 Alex Martin picks up her second straight Player of the Week award. Martin, a senior from Louisville, Ky., helped the Golden Eagles clinch a playoff spot with two conference wins last week. She tallied 12 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals in a narrow victory over Webster. Martin closed out her week with 35 points, on 13-of-22 shooting, in a win over Westminster. On the week she averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. |
