SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week - Feb. 18
Stephen Strong, Principia College

Strong, an infielder with Principia, claims the season's first Hitter of the Week award. The junior from Plano, Texas went 6-for-8 in two wins for the Panthers last week. He delivered three hits in both games, scoring a total of three runs while driving in five. Strong went 3-for-5, including a double, in the season opener while driving in one run. Strong followed with a perfect 3-for-3 game in the second game of a doubleheader against Crowley's Ridge. He hit his first home run of the season and drove in five of the Panthers 10 runs in the win. 

     
 

SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week - Feb. 18
Dillon Sievert, Spalding University

Sievert, a senior with Spalding University, started the 2019 season in impressive fashion. The native of Louisville, Ky., pitched the Golden Eagles to a win over #2 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater in the season opener. He threw 6 2/3 innings and allowed just two runs on five hits while striking out three. Sievert also led the game off with a solo home run at the plate and finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored on the day.

  • Mitchell Langley, Spalding University (Baseball) Had a pair of multi-hit games last week in helping the Golden Eagles win two games including a win over #2 Wisconsin-Whitewater.
  • Chris Stamos, Principia College (Baseball) Worked three scoreless innings of relief, striking out six and allowing just one hit.
  • Luke Summers, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Struck out a career-high 15 batters in his season debut, working eight innings and notching a win over Greenville.
