SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week - Feb. 25 Jackson Penrod claims this week's SLIAC Hitter of the Week award after helping the Griffins to a pair of wins over Nebraska Wesleyan over the weekend. Penrod, a senior from O'Fallon, Ill., hit .625 in the doubleheader, going 5-for-8 at the plate with a double. He drove in two runs and stole a base as he was part of the Griffin offense that drove in a total of 15 runs in the two games. |

SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week - Feb. 25 Zach Jones, a junior at Spalding University, is this week's SLIAC Pitcher of the Week. Jones, from Louisville, Ky., picked up the win in the Golden Eagles 2-0 victory over Case Western Reserve. Jones went 8 2/3 innings, allowing no runs and just four hits while striking out 12. He held the opponent without a hit for the first 6 2/3 innings while recording a career high in strikeouts. |

SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week - Feb. 25 Daniel Gomez is the first SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week award winner for the 2019 season. Gomez, a junior at Principia College, went undefeated this past week, totaling five wins. The Panthers #1 singles player picked defeated Illinois College, Missouri Baptist, and Simpson College while dropping just five sets in the three matches. He added an 8-0 win at #2 doubles over Illinois College and an 8-3 win in doubles over Missouri Baptist. |
