MacMurray to Celebrate Division III Week

MacMurray to Celebrate Division III Week

MacMurray Athletics is proud to announce its celebration of Division III Week, which runs Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7. Per the NCAA, Division III Week is a positive way to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding communities.

STUDENT-ATHLETE HIGHLIGHTS

Each day throughout the week, two student-athletes will be highlighted on our website and social media. These individuals, selected by their head coaches, have been chosen to represent their respective sport as they portray the true Division III student-athlete.

SPLASH THE COACH

Beginning Monday in the Athletics office, there will be containers where students can drop money to "splash" a head coach at Friday's student cookout. The three head coaches who have the most money will be announced and have water dumped on them at the cookout. All proceeds raised from this event will go directly towards Spirit of Faith Church in Jacksonville.

FEATURE STORIES

Five student-athletes with unique background stories will be featured each day – Kaylie StoweAnnahi HernandezDerek BourkeRyan Bradleyand Erik Juarez. The five will share a different look at being a Division III student-athlete, between injuries, opportunities and other experiences.

SATURDAY COOKOUT FUNDRAISER

On Saturday, April 6, both the Highlander baseball and softball teams are at home. During the games, MacMurray will hold a cookout where you can get your lunch for free if you bring an item to be donated to The Hope Lodge (paper products, cleaning items, new DVDs, new board games, gift cards).
