Carr, Mangelsdorf, Todt Join SLIAC Hall of Fame; Mitchell to Receive Distinguished Service Award

Angie Carr, Wylie Mangelsdorf, and Marty Todt will join the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame as inductees of the Class of 2019. In addition, Westminster College's Matt Mitchell will receive the 2019 Lee McKinney Distinguished Service Award.

Angie Carr was a member of the Webster University women's basketball team from 2001-05, earning First Team All-Conference honors three times and being named the 2005 SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. As a senior she averaged 18.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, leading the league in scoring average. That same year she guided the Gorloks to a SLIAC Tournament title, earning Tournament MVP honors. Following that season she was named Division III News Honorable Mention All-American, just the 3rd Gorlok to earn that honor. Carr was a member of two Gorlok teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, including the 2001-02 team that won a school-record 25 games. She is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,658 points; ranking her 4th in SLIAC history. She ranks in the top three in school history in field goals made, field goals attempted, career scoring average, career field goal percentage, career free throws made, rebounds, and steals. Carr was inducted into the Webster University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.

Wylie Mangelsdorf was a two-sport standout for Principia College, competing with both the Men's Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Mangelsdorf was an All-American and qualified for cross country nationals three times. He made an immediate impression in his first collegiate season, being chosen as the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and the SLIAC Runner of the Year in 2010. The following season he led the Panthers to a SLIAC Championship and was named All-Region while qualifying for nationals. He followed with All-Region honors and was a national qualifier again in his junior and senior seasons, capping off his career with another SLIAC Runner of the Year award and team championship in 2013. He was just as successful in the classroom earning SLIAC Academic All-Conference three times and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors twice.

Marty Todt becomes the first coach from Webster University to be inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame. Todt served as Gorloks Men's Soccer head coach for 25 years from 1998-2012, leading them to five regular-season titles and five additional SLIAC Tournament Championships. He finished his Gorlok career with a program record 238 wins including a school record 16 in the 1999 season. The Gorloks had 14 winning seasons with Todt at the helm and he was named SLIAC Coach of the Year six times. Webster made five NCAA Division III Tournament trips including advancing to the second round in 2005. Todt is also a member of the Webster University Athletics Hall of Fame (2012) and the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame (2011).

In addition to the Hall of Fame inductees, Matt Mitchell will receive the 2019 SLIAC Distinguished Service Award named after Lee McKinney. Mitchell, the athletic director and men's basketball head coach at Westminster College, is currently in his 21st season with the Blue Jays athletic department. After joining the school as head men's basketball and golf coach in 1998 he rose to the role of athletic director in 2005. Mitchell is well-known for his dedication and belief in integrity and his team has won the SLIAC Men's Basketball Sportsmanship Award five times. In the 2015-16 school year, with Mitchell leading the athletic department, Westminster became the first school in SLIAC history to take home both the SLIAC All-Sports trophy and the SLIAC Sportsmanship award in the same season, leading to the creation of the SLIAC Commissioner's Cup.

All honorees will be recognized at the 2019 SLIAC Awards Banquet held on May 14 at Tapawingo Golf Course in St. Louis, Mo.
