Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
Eric Meyer, Spalding University

Meyer, a junior from Frankfort, Ky., led the Golden Eagles to a doubleheader sweep of Iowa Wesleyan last week. He was 4-for-5 in the two games with two runs batted in and three stolen bases. He went 3-for-4 in game one and reached base in every at bat in game two; with one hit and two walks. He finished with a batting average of .800 and a .778 on-base percentage. 

     
   

Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week
Luke Summers, Fontbonne University

Summers was dominant in two outings for the Griffins last week. He won both starts, working a complete game each time out and totaled 21 strikeouts in just 16 innings while allowing no runs. His first game saw him throw 7 innings of four-hit ball with 11 strikeouts while his next outing had him going a full 9 innings, allowing only three hits while striking out 10. He walked just two batters on the week and now as 10 wins on the season.

     
   

Softball Hitter of the Week
Ally Klein, Spalding University

Klein had a busy week with Spalding, playing in ten games. She hit .371 on the week with five RBI and 13 runs scored. The sophomore infielder from Louisville, Ky. had six multiple hit games and added eight stolen bases. Her top performance was a 3-for-4 performance in game one of a doubleheader against Westminster.

     
   

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Diamond Thomas, Fontbonne University

Thomas concluded the Griffins season with an outing against Missouri Baptist. She worked five innings of game two of a doubleheader and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out three. 

     

Other Notables

  • Ryan Clavin, Westminster College (Baseball) Finished with six hits in four games including three home runs and seven runs batted in.
  • Braeden Dobbs, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Tallied five hits in final two games of series against Webster.
  • Bryce Griebler, MacMurray College (Baseball) Notched a hit in all five games last week, hitting .375 overall.
  • Tyler Jackson, Blackburn College (Baseball) Carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning against MacMurray and finished the week with two wins, allowing just four hits in 15 2/3 innings while striking out 15.
  • Zach Jones, Spalding University (Baseball) Worked 6 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out 11.
  • Emelia Modglin, Fontbonne University (Softball) Had five hits in a doubleheader against Missouri Baptist.
  • Hannah Schroeder, Westminster College (Softball) Hit .583 last week with a pair of three-hit games. 
  • A.J. Smith, Webster University (Baseball) Pair of two-hit games in a three-game series against Fontbonne, hitting .500 on the week.
