Men’s Golf Takes Second at Lewis & Clark Invitational

Tre Wahlig shot a 78 to lead the Blueboys during Saturday’s round at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

ALTON, Ill. – The Illinois College men's golf team finished in second place on Saturday at the Lewis & Clark Invitational, held at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course. The Blueboys recorded a team score of 322, seven shots back of Lewis & Clark for the overall team championship. 

Illinois College's best round of the day came from freshman Tre Wahlig, who carded a 78. Ryan Kaufmann and Tanner Romine each had an 80 and Louis Faivre rounded out the team scoring for the Blueboys with an 84.

Bryce Oden was also part of Illinois College's main five-man rotation and shot a round of 87 on Saturday. On IC's second team in the tournament, Riley Nelson shot a round of 80, JR Batson had an 86, Alex Anderson recorded a 92, Nathan Ellis carded a 95 and Ethan Bonacorsi ended with a 97.

No other results from the tournament have yet been distributed. More updates to follow as information comes out.

The Illinois College men's golf team marks the end of the Fall season on Oct. 13 with a one-day SLIAC Preview in Madison, Ill. at the Gateway National Golf Links. Tee times begin at 11:30 a.m.
