GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team avenged an earlier season loss as they topped Webster 81-76 on Saturday afternoon.  Taylor Paulin scored a team high 21 points to lead the Lady Panthers.

It took Greenville one half to get on track as they trailed 17-15 after one period and 35-31 at halftime.

They came out in the third quarter and took the lead on a Paulin layup with over five minutes to play.  The lead went back and forth between teams in the remainder of the third quarter, but Webster was on top 55-54 when the period ended.

The teams were tied at 74-74 with less than one minute remaining when Claire Schmitt converted a basket when fouled and made the ensuing free throw.

Greenville got a defensive stop on the Webster's next possession, and Morgan St. James found Laura Goodnight for a layup with 26 seconds remaining for a five-point lead that proved too much for the Gorlocks.

Schmitt posted 14 points and four assists for Greenville.

Kelly Lenz filled up her stat line with nine points, 12 rebounds, and four steals as she led all players in rebounds and steals.

The Lady Panthers (11-6, 6-3 SLIAC) travel to Westminster on Wednesday night as they face a team that is just one half game behind them in the conference standings.
