GREENVILLE, Ill. - Westminster volleyball won matches against Spalding and Webster to remain a perfect 3-0 in conference play.

The Blue Jays improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

"I'm really proud of how the whole team played today," said Westminster Head Coach Natalia Koryzna. "They were focused and worked hard to get these wins."

In the first match of the day, the Blue Jays swept Spalding 3-0, not allowing the Golden Eagles to come within five points.

Allie Kennebeck and Natalie Needy led the way offensively with seven kills each, while freshman setter Jill Reando added 23 assists. Bridget Ringwald remained a steady defensive force, recording 23 digs.

In the second match of the day, Westminster faced Webster, who was a tournament team in last year's conference tournament.

The Blue Jays took the first two sets 25-22, but the Gorloks came back to take the third set 25-23. Westminster righted the ship to end the match after four sets, taking the final set 25-21.

Four Blue Jays recorded double-digit kills including 16 from Needy, 15 from Teresa Becker, 14 from Sarah Rivers, and 10 from Kennebeck. Reando helped on 31 assists, while Madisyn Matthews played time at setter with 20 assists. Both Ringwald and Becker added 26 digs.

Westminster continues SLIAC play Wednesday at Fontbonne.
