Women's soccer rolls to 8-0 win at Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The women's soccer team gained a dominating 8-0 win at Rockford on Friday as seven Panthers scored and goalkeeper Sam Barnhart earned the shutout.

Greenville scored the game winning goal just over two minutes into the game when Kate Arthur deposited a shot into the bottom left corner.

Just three minutes later, the Panthers added a goal from Jade Taylor, and Taylor posted her second goal of the match in the 18th minute.

Goals from Maddie Saffel, Caitlin McLoughlin, and Christina Bowman increased Greenville's advantage to 6-0 at the halftime intermission.

Dani Pearce and Courtney Lawrence gave the Panthers their second half scores.

Greenville controlled the match, outshooting Rockford 27-2.  Both of Rockford's shots were on goal and required saves from Barnhart.

Jade Taylor ended the match with two goals and one assist.

Lawrence, Arthur, and Bowman each posted a goal and an assist.

The Panthers (4-4) travel to Maranatha Baptist for a match on Saturday in Wisconsin.
