Rose-Hulman Blanks Westminster Women's Soccer

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Rose-Holman hands Westminster women's soccer a 2-0 loss to complete the Blue Jays' home stand. 

Westminster falls to 1-3 with the loss while Rose-Hulman improves to 3-2. 

"The result was not in our favor today, but I'm happy with a great deal of our play against a strong program," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson. "Our nonconference schedule has and will continue to make us better in the long run as everyone is a quality opponent."

The Blue Jays held Rose-Hulman scoreless in the first half while allowing no shots. Westminster was able to record three shots in the first half, two from Payton Beeler and one from Heidi Gundy.

Rose-Hulman came out strong in the second half, holding Westminster shotless while recording six of their own. 

The first goal came in the 52nd minute from Lauren London on an assist from Madeline Romeo. They controlled the rebound off the goal and scored from close range. 

Madeline Romeo added a second goal for Rose-Hulman in the 58th minute, which was unassisted from 10 yards out. 

Ellen Woolsey made one save and gave up zero goals for the Blue Jays in the first half. Sarah Cradick picked up the game at the half and made two saves while allwoing two goals. 

"We are continuing to improve and we are looking to become more consistent over the full 90 minutes," said Dyson. "We will continue to build off of our growth today." 

Westminster goes on the road to face Central Iowa Friday at 3 p.m.
