Women's volleyball takes pair of SLIAC matches

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team got back on track in dominating fashion on Saturday with a pair of three set wins at H.J. Long Gymnasium in SLIAC action.  The Panthers topped Webster 3-0 in the opening match of the day and then ended their day with a 3-0 win over Eureka.

Greenville's Abby Freeman posted an 18 kill morning in the first match in Greenville's swift 25-15, 25-5, 25-23 victory against Webster.

The Panthers hit at an astounding .419 rate in the first set as they converted 16 kills and limited themselves to three errors in 42 attempts.

Brooklyn Pace helped Greenville on the offense and defense with seven kills and 14 digs.

Jordan Lempa recorded four service aces.

The Panthers gained a 60-minute win in the second match with a 25-14, 25-7, 25-17 triumph over Eureka.

Freeman again led Greenville's attack with 12 kills.

Allyson Grabowski posted 10 digs to pace GU's defensive game.

The Panthers (3-4, 2-1 SLIAC) host Illinois College on Tuesday.  First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
