Baseball wins third straight in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The baseball team will return to Illinois with a winning trip to Arizona.  The Panthers defeated Hamline 5-1 to complete a 4-3 spring trip.

The Panthers jumped ahead of Hamline in the bottom of the first inning when Austin Marsh and Klaiton Wolff delivered RBI singles.

Hamline got a run back in the top of the second, but Greenville got the run back with an RBI double from Jesse Getz in the bottom of the fourth.

Travis Ralls and Marsh posted RBI singles in the bottom of the seventh.

Bryce Pearch and Sam Alendar combined to pitch a two hitter.  Pearce went seven innings and struck out seven while only allowing a hit and a walk.  Alendar closed the game with two innings and only permitted one hit.

Marsh and Wolff each posted three hit outings for the Panthers.  Marsh led the team with two RBI.

Ralls had two hits and two runs scored, and Getz added two hits.

The Panthers (5-7) host Washington-St. Louis at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Greenville at Robert E. Smith Field.
