Women’s soccer cruises against Iowa Wesleyan

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Freshman Maddie Glascock recorded Simpson's first hat trick in almost five years, Hanna Haack added another two goals and the Storm women's soccer team cruised to an 11-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

The Storm (1-3-2) outshot the Tigers (0-4-0) 27-1, with 25 of Simpson's shots coming in the first half. Simpson's 11 goals were the most by a Storm team since putting up 13 against AIB in 2012. Simpson took a 10-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Glascock gave the team its first three-goal performance since Lacey Davis did it against St. Mary in 2011. The rookie added an assist for seven points on the night, the most by a Simpson player since Ashley Curran put up eight against Buena Vista in 2006.

Taylor Vaudt scored the first goal in the third minute, followed by Casey Reisen's first goal of the season 30 seconds later. By the 10th minute, the Storm already had five goals.

In all, nine different players found the back of the net for the Storm. Meredith Harrison got her first goal of the season and Maddie Thomas recorded her second while Dani Marquez and Jessica Payne scored the first goals of their Simpson careers.

Thomas' goal came in the 51st minute, the only goal in the second half for the Storm.
