Men's basketball handles Blackburn

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team managed a 134-122 win over Blackburn on Saturday at H.J. Long Gymnasium.

The Panthers took a 66-62 lead after the first half and outscored Blackburn 68-60 in the second half.

Eric Williams finished as Greenville's leading scorer with 25 points. He made 11-of-18 field goal attempts, 1-of-2 three pointers, and 2-of-3 free throws.

Sontiago Grady was one of three other Panthers to reach 15 points. Grady ended with 18 points, Riley Simmons posted 17 points, and Rakim Murphy had 15 points.

Barry Nixon was GU's top rebounder with nine. Simmons paced Greenville with seven steals and five assists.

The Panthers (6-8, 5-2 SLIAC) have a matchup against Iowa Wesleyan on Monday at 3 p.m. in Greenville.  With a win, the Panthers will join Webster in first place in the SLIAC standings.
