Women's Soccer Drops Match to Knox

GALESBURG, Ill. - Westminster lost its season opener to Know 2-0. 

"Today was a battle with a physical team," said Head Coach Jen Dyson. "I'm proud of the fight we put in and the growth that took place throughout the 90 minutes."

The Prairie Fire recorded a goal in each half to down the Blue Jays. The team first struck in the 25th minute on a goal from Jessica Peterson. They scored again in the 63rd minute to seal their 20 victory. 

Paige Townsend recorded all the offense for the Blue Jays with two shots, one on goal. 

Sarah Craddick played all 90 minutes in goal and added eight saves. 

Knox outshot the Blue Jays 14-2. 

Westminster plays Sunday at 2 p.m. against Monmouth.
