Women's soccer collects 2-0 shut out win over Blackburn

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team shut out Blackburn on Wednesday night at Francis Field, gaining a 2-0 victory.

After shutting out Blackburn 12-0 early in the conference schedule, it appeared that Greenville would inflict another rout on the Beavers when Emma Cadwell tallied a goal in the fourth minute of the match.

However, Blackburn's defense performed admirably and held Greenville to just one more goal on a shot from Alexis Roberts in the 32nd minute.

Overall, the Panthers held Blackburn without a shot and recorded 24 shots.

Roberts was GU's leader with six shots, including three on target.

Cadwell provided five shots, and three were on target.

Grace Gehner and Carly Wagner shared an uneventful night in front of the net for GU, collecting a combined shutout.
