Baseball wins tenth at MacMurray

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team earned a 3-1 win over MacMurray on Friday and received a 8.1 inning outing from starting pitcher Bryce Pearce in the process.

Pearce held MacMurray to one run on six hits and two walks while striking out four to improve to 2-2.  Austin Rexroad collected the save.

The Panthers gave Pearce all the run support he needed with two first inning runs.  Klaiton Wolff provided an RBI double, and Austin Marsh had an RBI single.

Greenville made the score 3-0 in the top of the ninth following Ty Maxie's sacrifice fly.

MacMurray eventually rallied but could only score one in the ninth.

Wolff and Andrew Torbeck each had two hits.

The Panthers (10-14, 5-6 SLIAC) face MacMurray in a doubleheader on Saturday in Jacksonville.
