Men's soccer drops match to Webster with own goal

FENTON, Mo. - The men's soccer team controlled play on Wednesday night in their match against Webster, but the Panthers came up short 1-0 after allowing an own goal in the 17th minute of the match.

Greenville held a 13-5 shot advantage but only put one shot on goal.

Pablo Valverde and Luis Duran led GU with three shots each in the match.

Othon Chavez and Andre Dos Santos each had two shots.

The Panther defense played effectively in front of goalkeeper Pedro Vebber. Vebber did not face a shot on goal.

The Panthers (10-8-1, 8-4-1 SLIAC) conclude regular season play on Saturday afternoon in match against Fontbonne at 1 p.m.
