Westminster Women's Soccer Victorious Over Spalding

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster women's soccer rebounds from a loss earlier this week by shutting out Spalding 2-0.

The Blue Jays improve to 6-6 with the win and 3-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

"I'm proud of the ladies and how they came together to fight for a win," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson.

Westminster scored each of their goals early in the game, spending the rest of the match playing shut out defense to keep the Golden Eagles from creating any opportunities to score.

The first Blue Jay goal came in the 13th minute from Morgan Henry

Less than two minutes later, Madison Ekern added a goal to make the score 2-0, and the Blue Jays never looked back.

A strong offensive first half from Westminster produced 13 shots, including 15 shots overall. The Golden Eagles were only able to produce seven shots on the game, thanks to the strong Westminster defense.

Sarah Cradick played all 90 minutes in goal, making three saves.

Westminster continues conference play Wednesday at home against Fontbonne.
