FULTON, Mo. -- The women's basketball team defeated Westminster for the second time this season with a 71-65 win on the road on Wednesday.
The Panthers took control of the game with a 21-7 opening quarter and held off Westminster's pursuit for the win.
The Blue Jays gained a few points back as they trailed GU 37-29 at halftime.
Greenville made the score 58-43 after three quarters and held on for the victory.
Wesley Woodard came alive offensively for Greenville with 22 points in the post position. She made 10-of-15 field goal attempts and a pair of free throws.
Starters Meredith Crosier and Maria Reinhard posted 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Kelly Lenz controlled the rebounding battle as she grabbed 12 in the game.
The Panthers (14-4, 9-1 SLIAC) host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday at 1 p.m.
