GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The softball team kept pace in their efforts to clinch a spot in the SLIAC tournament with two wins over Principia on Tuesday. The Panthers won game one 6-2 before taking game two in five innings by a 10-1 score.
In game one, Greenville received a complete game pitching effort from Caitie Opp who only allowed two runs and six hits.
Kate Jolliff Rosado went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Becca Oldham was 2-for-3.
Game two went Greenville's way from the beginning in a game ended due to the mercy rule.
Rosado homered for the second time in the day as she went 2-for-3 and added a double.
Maegan Stone received the victory in the circle with four innings of two-hit softball. She only allowed one run.
The Panthers (10-15, 8-3 SLIAC) were scheduled to travel to Millikin on Wednesday, but the games were cancelled. They host Iowa Wesleyan on Friday at 3 p.m.
