Men's soccer drops 2-0 decision at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. - The men's soccer team competed in a hard-fought match against Anderson on Friday and was dealt a 2-0 loss on the road.

Despite a two goal deficit, the match appeared evenly contested with a 12-11 shot differential in Greenville's favor.

The Panthers recorded four shots in the first half and eight shots in the second half of the match.

Greenville's pressure was evident by a difference of 6-1 in corner kicks attempted. The Panthers held the upper hand with Anderson sending six balls past their end line.

David Quijano earned his first start of the season as Greenville's goalkeeper, and he allowed two first half goals in 45 minutes without a save. Pedro Vebber entered the match at goalkeeper at halftime and kept a clean sheet with one save.

Juan Salazar attempted two of Greenville's 12 shots in the match. Jose Soutullo, Jared McPeek, Pablo Valverde, Benn Jane, and Luis Duran all recorded a shot on goal.

The Panthers (2-2) travel Manchester for a contest on Saturday.
