Women's basketball secures 20 win regular season

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team collected a 79-71 win over Webster on Saturday to wrap up the first 20 win regular season in its SLIAC history.

Before the game, the program recognized seniors Meredith Crosier, Maria Reinhard, Laura Goodnight, Kelly Lenz, Lauren Stephenson, and Lindsay Burton for their contributions to the women's basketball program.

Greenville led 19-15 after one quarter and held a 34-31 lead at halftime.

A 29-point third quarter expanded Greenville's lead to 63-55, and each team scored 16 points in the final quarter.

Wesley Woodard yielded way to senior Stephenson in the starting lineup, but Woodard posted 20 points to lead GU.

Crosier had a 14-point outing, and Goodnight scored 11 while leading with seven rebounds.

Lenz produced in a non-scoring role with six rebounds and three steals.

The Panthers (20-5) will face Westminster in the semifinals of the SLIAC tournament on Friday.
