ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team secured its second straight SLIAC Regular Season Championship after knocking off Eureka, 2-0.
Game Breakdown
The Griffins held a 9-0 shot advantage before breaking through in the 23rd minute. Kierstyn Weaver found Molly Kovarik in the box and the Festus, Mo., native made a move getting away from the Red Devils defense scoring her career-high 17th goal on the season.
Fontbonne finished with a 10-0 shot advantage the rest of the way leading by one at halftime.
In the second half, the Griffins continued pressure paid off once more in the 55th minute. Caroline Neal passed the ball up ahead of Claire Dalton. The Florissant, Mo., native, crossed the ball over into the box for the cutting Krystal Kohenskey and she scored her seventh on the season giving Fontbonne a 2-0 lead.
That proved to be more than enough with Fontbonne having a 21-1 shot advantage in the second half en route to the victory.
