Women's soccer paced by Taylor's four goals in 12-1 win

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's soccer team ran away with a 12-1 victory over Lincoln Christian on Tuesday as Jade Taylor posted four goals.

The match was never in question as Greenville played nearly the entire contest on the Lincoln Christian defensive end of the field.

Taylor scored four of the first seven goals.  The Red Lions managed to hold an attacking Panther unit at bay until Taylor opened the scoring in the 18th minute.  Shortly thereafter Natty Hepburn scored, and Taylor followed with her second of the game.

A goal by Courtney Lawrence made the score 4-0 before Lincoln Christian scored to make the score 4-1 at halftime.

In the second half, Taylor completed the hat trick in the 52nd minute her fourth goal of the match 10 minutes later.

Dani Pearce, Breanna Thomas, Kate Arthur, Traci Roa, Kaylie Weideman, and Christina Bowman added single goals.

Greenville posted 51 shots in the match.

The Panthers (6-4) will open SLIAC competition on Saturday at 7 p.m. with a match against MacMurray in Greenville.
