GREENVILLE, Ill. - After 110 minutes of play, Westminster played Greenville to a 1-1 draw.

Westminster is now 3-1-1 in the SLIAC and 7-3-1 overall. Greenville moves to 1-2-2 in the SLIAC.

"This was an extremely frustrating result," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "We had a good first half and put ourself in a good spot starting the second half. Unfortunately, we made one mistake and they took advantage."

The Blue Jays struck first in the 31st minute on an unassisted goal from Drake Trease which would be the team's only goal of the match.

Westminster held the 1-0 lead going into the half, but the Panthers netted a ball in the 63rd minute to even the score and take the Blue Jays into overtime.

Westminster dominated the pace of play and the offensive production, outshooting Greenville 23-5 and forcing the Panther goalkeeper to make six saves. The Blue Jays did not allow a single shot from Greenville in either overtime period.

Daniel Barone recorded seven shots just ahead of Trease's five.

Ben Chesher played all 110 minutes in goal and made two saves.

"We will regroup and be ready for Saturday's match," said Galla.

Westminster returns home to face Iowa Wesleyan Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup.
